2004 Mini automatic transmission shifting

Mini is automatic with 54,000 miles. Transmission shifts between 4,000 and 5,000 on the tach and runs great at 70 mph. Will not shift at 3,000 to 4,000 like it used to. Will not run at 55 mph in OD wants to stay in 4th or 5th gear with 4,000 rpm.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
ramylacey

Need more info - Cooper or "S". Two very different auto transmissions.

Try driving in "Sport" mode, activate it by pulling the shifter to the left when in drive. See if the shifting and drivability improves.

If so, take it to the dealer and have them reset the transmission adaptations and possibly replace the CVT fluid.
