My airbag light comes on sometimes. If I buckle the passenger seat belt it goes off. If I have a passenger in the seat and the belt is fastened the light will go off. Sometimes the light will not come on when the passenger seat is empty. I suspect a defective sensor but not sure where to look. I have checked the underseat connectors and they seem to be ok.

I have a 2004 MCS with 30k mileage. Thanks for any assistance.

 

I just had a similar issue with a 2003 Honda and altho the vehicle was out of warranty the restraint system is covered under a different set of rules then the basic vehicle. My seat belt assembly was replaced at no charge which cleared the problem.

Worth going to the dealer and at least getting them to give an estimate . . .

My 06 MC has been doing this.
It started at around 55 k miles but when I was going to go to the dealer it went out (about a year ago). Fast forward a year and it is happing more often. Yesterday it would go on and off with bumps in the road. Did you have any luck with the dealership covering problem. After reading I suspect a sensor.
