can anybody tell what i can use to top off my manual tranny in my 2002 mini cooper base model the dealer says mtf94 but they are like 4 hours away from me is there a fluid equivilant i can buy at a local parts place maybe and can somebody tell me where the fill plug is, PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks in advance

Call a local BMW dealership and see if they stock what you need. The only other suggestion is to go to a foreign parts store. As for aftermarket, seems Redline is the preferred brand.

Helix Motorsports' website says the fluids have changed over the years. Double-check with the dealership to find out what they used for your specific MINI

Check your local speed shop as most PepBoys, AutoZone and Advanced type stores don't carry Redline.
Probably best to just change it rather than top it up. I have been changing mine every 25k. Very easy to do.
