7600K. Shrieking noise. New Flywheel!

Is it something I did, or is this a POS part that I need to worry about forever? 2009 manual S.

Sorry, I was a bit brief above.

A week or so ago, I started hearing a shrieking noise (hard to describe, quick, loud) when I shifted sometimes. I tried to change things up to see if I could consistently reproduce the noise but I couldn't. I took it in, and they think it's the flywheel and are looking to replace it today.

Strange, I would have replaced the belt or tensioner before replacing the flywheel... Never heard of your problem...

glazed dual mass flywheels that produce the shreaking noise are a common problem with both gen MINIs. they can't be trued, so they have to be replaced.

Go LuK Gruppe! Love your spotty products!
