Squeaky Seat back

This is driving me nuts! It started about a month ago. 2005 MCS. Sport seats. Of course it's been out of warranty for about 6 months now. Whenever there is a passenger, the seat back squeaks like crazy while driving. I did a search and saw this was an issue back in 2002/2003 and they were replacing seats under warranty. Anyone have this issue on a later model? Is the plastic seat back removable? I'm wondering if there is any way to grease it.

I am having the same problem in my 2008 Clubman. It occurs with or without a passenger in the back seat.

It is about to put me over the edge.

Mine is the front passenger seat--somewhere in the seat back springs I'm guessing. Last night I tilted the seat forward and smacked on it a few times...it actually didn't squeak this am but I'm pretty sure it will come back soon.

blonda, can you isolate the source ? Do you get a sense it's the seats airbag/compartment, or the seats adjustment arm assembly on the right side of the pass seat ?

These things drive me nuts too. I loosened the dash top yesterday in my R53, and strategically placed about 10 sticky backed felt pads in areas between where the dash top meets the front panels....NO MORE DASH RATTLES !

I haven't yet. I sounds like springs squeaking though. Every movement of the car it squeaks. If the passenger leans forward without leaning on the seat back, it stops. Seems to come from the middle of the seat back but it's hard to tell.

I solved a rattle in my console by shoving a washer in the crack...whatever it takes
