Coolant all down the front of my block....

Forgive me for not having my camera pics uploaded (and my camera not with me) but I was about to replace the radiator in my '04 MCS when I found coolant all down the front of my block.

Turns out my radiator is fine, and the leak seems to be coming from the joint between the SC and the water neck? Where it transitions from the aluminum part on the SC to the plastic hose. Does this make sense to anyone? Is there a seal or gasket I can replace? Thanks!

I'll have the pics posted asap - which unfortunately will be Monday.

Sounds like the t-stat housing. And yes they have been known to leak. It is a fairly easy part to replace. Make sure you get the latest revised one with the better gasket from the dealer.

Ok so that is the thermostat? I was under the impression that the tstat was located on the drivers side of the cylinder head.
