Replacement air filter for an MCS ???
With my upcoming pulley mod I'm on a tight budget to get my air filter replaced. Does normal automotive parts places carry a drop in filter? About how much? Does anyone know the price of a MINI filter from the dealership?

If your getting a pulley mod done, do yourself a favor and get a Cold Air Intake. I just bought the MINIPILO replacement intake kit and Im LOVING it. Dyno proven power upgrades, looks trick, the sound of the supercharger will go nuts! I got mine at outmotoring.com for 125.99 and it even came with the oil and cleaning kit. It's worth it, take the plunge.

Usually with the pulley the biggest mods that compliment it would be:
1. Exhaust upgrade
2. Cold air intake
3. ECU
If you already have an exhaust added then the intake pairs with it nicely. A better drop in filter like the green filter is about $48. Unless you have lots of miles on your old stock paper filter you don't need to change it due to the pulley upgrade itself.
If you don't have an exhaust added then you don't have to worry about intake yet because unless you buy an alta intake with hose it won't make that much difference yet.
I agree that for people on a budget the Pilo intake makes the most sense and still gives a little more power. I'd save for that ooption rather than buy a stock filter. Plus most of us that upgraded have stock filters lying around you don't need to buy one. Just post on marketplace that you WTB "newish" stock air filter cheap.
