Changed wheels on 2006 Mini now have seat belt light, airbag light, + no dash lights

My 2006 mini cooper (stock 15" rims) needed new tires so instead of getting just new tires, I ordered 2009 mini rims and tires (16" rims). After installing the new wheels myself, I got several problems.

1) The seat belt light is on even though my seat belt is on
2)The airbag light is on although it was not on before I did the wheel change
3) Even though my lights are on, and the external lights do turn on, no lights on the dash (speedometers) do not turn on except for the two error lights that were previously stated

I have hunted around the internet and my manual with no luck.
Any ideas?
Thanks

My 06 MCS somewhat have the same issue as far as the no night illumination and then I have the chrono pack so my speedo and tach are together over the steering wheel and they are dead no lights no movement. But the gauges in the chrono pack are fine. I am in the process of diagnosing it with AutoEnginuity Diagnostic Software and the help of a friend who is a MINI tech.

Wheels/tires were changed about 1 month ago. Airbag/seatbelt light have been on ever since the tire/wheel change.

Probably not much help, but I had the airbag/seatbelt lights on shortly after I got my 09, and it turned out that there was a wire that could get chaffed up near the sunroof... solution was to reinsulate and move it.

Lesson here being that they could have these freaking wires going to sensors ANYWHERE.

Maybe something tweaked and pinched something... Long shot, but thought id chime in

Maybe something having to do with the first gem tps system not syncing back up? have you reset it??

I had similar problem not to long ago, I hit a speed bump kind of hard and my speedometer and tach died ( no movement )and when I got home took the battery out for couple of hrs. and turn it back on ...and it work..I guess taking the battery out reseted the computer.

I'm telling you - someone's gonna make a mint by figuring out how to exorcise the computers from these cars' systems as they fail.
