Extended Warranty From Mercury Insurance

I am approaching 50,000 miles on my 07 Cooper and I am thinking about purchasing an extended Warranty from Mercury that would up it to 100,000. I am at 49 and change and apparantly need to do it before I click off 50......

Thanks in Advance everyone

Is this what yr dealer uses/offers? If not, AVOID like the plague. third party XW's are TROUBLE. find out what yr dealer honors (mine uses GE) and stick with that, it may cost more, but at least there wont be any 3P hassles.

I used Mercury Extended Warranty on my BMW. The dealer said that if it was a BMW EW, they wouldn't be "required" to replace something that was "about to fail". The mentality would be to rather wait and see. If it breaks within warranty fine. If it breaks after warranty even better. But since Mercury EW was not a cost burdened on BMW or BMW's third party, they will replace the part that about to fail since the dealer will be paid for their service by Mercury. Mercury was cheaper than BMW. I have had a few occasions where I had to use the Mercury EW and it was pretty painless besides the $60 deductible to replace a bunch of window motors and sensors. This time I bought mine through Warranty Direct for the Mini. http://www.carbuyingtips.com/warranty.htm Warranty Direct was cheaper than Mercury.

I am still covered under factory warranty so I can't tell you how good they are.

You need to initiate the discussion directly with your Mercury Insurance rep. Some brokers won't know what you are talking about.

yes the brokers, like USFidelis, are nothing but scams. Thats why BMW is sueing USFidelis for false claims as to X warranty services.
