Hiccup at 3000ish RPM... where to start diagnosis?

Where should i begin my diagnosis for my 3000rpm hiccup.

Is there anything to look for?

Is there a common problem with throttle percentages that I can try to eliminate certain parts/factors?

I'd like the list to start as inexpensive as possible.

This means, things like a bypass valve, or dealer reflash are last on my list of things to try.

Wire tie the bypass valve closed....

and see if the hesitation goes away. Sad to say, the symptom you describe screams by pass valve.....

Any instructions to this?
Although i know my stuff... this mini engine is still foreign to me. Too new (to me) and not enough tinkering time.
