After work today, I got into my CVT MC and started revving the engine with the CVT in Park. It wouldn't rev past 4000 RPM, but it'll redline in the manual shift mode without breaking a sweat. Is there a rev limiter on the CVT, or is there something horribly, horribly wrong with my car?

Ya i dont think you are allowed to rev that high in Park "P" its limited... I dont think it would allow u to rev high in neutral either to prevent u from doing a high RPM drop into drive... while in gear of course it'll let u.... I think its normal...

Ah yes those were the days... The days before limited slip, computers and wide tires. We use to do high RPM drops in my step moms 1981 Olds Cutlass Supreme with the big V6 and small hard rubber tires... :smile: I could leave a single blackmark for half a mile!! Smoke everywhere! I can't imagine how that tranny held up to that abuse. It must have been built like a brick s**thouse!

She would kicked my a$$ had she known what I was doing. I did get caught 4 wheeling in the mud once though... :smile: Not that I would know anything about that.
