Passenger seat airbag switch

This is the second time my passenger seat airbag switch has gone bad. Still under warranty, so I will get it fixed, but this appears to be a common failure, at least for me.

My concern is what to do when it fails again out of warranty. This appears to be the only part of the airbag circuitry that does not lock or latch the warning light on. The light comes and goes as the switch sees fit.

I have the Bentley, but I cannot find any details about this switch. My plan is to build a false signal when it fails again, telling the system that someone is sitting in the seat. Thus making the passenger side operational all the time. (I never haul small people, babies, etc, so I don't need the reduced capacity airbag explosion.) I figure the full force option is better than in doing nothing when needed.

I just need to know is the system looking for an open circuit, a closed circuit or some specific resistance or return voltage.

Can anyone help?

thanks YD
