Front control arm bushings... how much is too much?

Hi motorers,

I have to change my front control arm bushings and "guide support" (whatever that is...??) and my dealer quoted me a price...

control arm bushings 275.00
guide supports 230.00

labor approx 1199.00..

Does it seem to be a good estimate?

I don't know anything about this... How involving is this job?

Thanks for any help!

That's insane but no big surprise coming from a stealer. Here's a set for $99. Guide supports here for $32 each. As far as labor goes get yourself a copy of the Bentley manual or TIS DVD from Ebay and DIY.

I got my powerflex at http://www.mossmini.com/Shop/ViewPro...eIndexID=36704 you need two of the 1st bushing listed, part#100-640, and most shops can do the job in two hours or less for the 1st time. It can be done at home, but I encourage guys to let the tech fight this battle.
