Driver and Passanger Window Squeak
I've had my mini for about 5 months now when the automatic windows would make a squeaking noise when they are put up or down. It's the worst when it's really hot or humid out, but doesn't seem to do this after right after I wash the windows, but will a day later, or when it's quite cooler out.
Has anyone else experience this problem? If so, should I get it checked out by the dealer right away, because I was going to wait till service time to get it checked out.

are your windows tinted because heat and tint likes to do that
i would take it to the dealer though its free
if that doesnt work i would switch window cleaner maybe it is leaving a film or something
you can acually wax you windows to make them slick
people use this rather than rain x

I have had my MINI back to the dealer repeatedly for this problem. On sunny days, when I leave for work in the morning with the car still cool or cold, the window is quiet. By lunchtime, when the sun has heated the driver's door (even if the outdoor temps are 50 deg. F or less), the window squeals when it is being lowered or raised. By the time I leave work in the evening, the sun is setting, and the door has cooled enough that the window is quiet again.
The first time I took the car in for this condition, I dropped it off at 8 AM, and could not demonstrate the symptom to the service advisor. The tech sprayed some silicone lube on the door surround gasket in the area where it contacts the glass, and adjusted the window before the car was returned to me. The next day was cold and rainy, and the window was quiet. However, the second day after the service visit was sunny, and proved the adage "lack of evidence is not evidence of lack!" The squeal was still present, in all its original glory.
I took the car in again for unrelated service issue. I waited an hour and a half while the dealer figured out that they had ordered the wrong @$#! switch for my rear fog lamps. The squeal was still present at luchtime. Thus, the net result of me driving an hour to the dealer and sitting and waiting was that I got a courtesy car wash.

Hey there,
I had the same issue with my windows since day one. On day 350ish, I took it in and they ordred a battery of parts, but both window motors were replaced. I don't have any more noise (except the VERY LOUD RATTLE from the sunroof)
