Cruise control light flashing

My '04 JCW was broken into the other night, driver side window was shattered. The car got rained in some, I am not sure how much but it wasn't buckets. When I got the car from the glass company, the cruise control light began flashing. CC will not work now, either. Is there a reset of some sort for this? I have a code scout, but have not used it yet.

It could be one of several things - I've been thru this on my '03 JCW several times - but start with the easiest first, check the brake and clutch switch adjustments. I don't know how (or if) the break in could have affected them, but they're right there in the open so they're fairly easy to see.......

In my car they replaced/adjusted the brake switch a couple of times, then the steering angle sensor, then finally the electrical part of my ignition switch to fix mine. So far it's still working.

If you don't find a problem with the brake switch, I'd probably bite the bullet and take it to the dealer. Maybe they can figure out a way to link it to the break in so your insurance will cover it..

there is a mode your cruise control will go to into that makes this happen. you can make it happen by holding the cruise control on button for several seconds until it starts flasshing. after this your cruise control wont work but as soon as you turn off the key it will work again the next time you turn it on. not sure why or what this does I talked to some folks at the dealer about it and they didnt seem to know anything about it either.
my cruise seems to only be working in 3rd gear and no one knows why. it is associated with the transmission though because it worked fine before I switched tranys but did the same thing in the last car it was in.
