Turbo heat solution?

Got thinking and researching about a different location for the turbo so as to reduce the hood temperatures and look what I found:

http://www.ststurbo.com/

I'll talk to them and see if they are interested in our problem.

What do you think?

BMW announced M versions of their SUVs at the New York Auto Show today. According to the article, the engine used in both is a turbo-charged V8, with the twin-scroll turbo (sound familiar?) located between the two banks of cylinders, to reduce turbo lag.

The ststurbo you mentioned in your post, KrautHammer, locates the turbos at the back end of the car, just ahead of the exhaust tips, to reduce heat under the hood. I guess you step on the gas, have a latte, then feel the turbo kick in...

An interesting solution. I wonder how much space it would take to retro fit to a mini. Perhaps where the spare donut fits on a standard cooper would be enough to wedge the turbo in.
