Ive had the car for 12 months and ive had it in to mini to resolve the issue 5 times. The week i bought the car i started having issues eventually it just broke down in the second week. i was told the entire unit was replaced except for the glass. When i went to leave the dealership it wouldnt open they took it back in and did something which was nothing it cooled down so it worked. they told me to bring it back if problem reoocurs. Guess what since then iv had it lubed more than a prostitute on crack. By the way when the engineer was in he said they were working on a resolution. Mini service has tried to fix bt are unable to since its an engineering problem. I bet there gonna blame god for creating the sun therefor creating the sunroof issue. I just called corporate for first time lets see what happens.

 

sry for this wonderful repeat thread just venting. Its 60 and not working the summers coming so what to do?

 

To me the way MINI designed the sunroof is simply a can of worms waiting to be "open". That and the lack of a solid sunshade have totally turned me off to it since the beginning of time.

Good luck getting yours fixed. Next time get a solid roof MINI or a convertible. To me sunroofs are poor compromises.

 

Mine is in right now for the 4 problems that they can't fix and one of them is my sun roof. This is the 4th time for my sun roof and very time they have a new fix so they say.

Get rid of the car, get all your money back, and re-order with more options! (that's what I did)

Seriously mine's worked fine, seems like they should be able to fix it. Hope you get it resolved and stay on corporate.
