Where is my oil going?

also when i tore mine down a while back i had seized ring . (top) . it was from heat due to oil loss but i hear these rings are prone to deposits at top and could cause rings to bind and not seal well . so in all seriousness maybe he'd get lucky with a good seafoaming and a bunch in the tank and some good ole beatin' .

No milkshake, but it did look like there was a touch of oil-film in there... I'd really hate to think I have HG problems at only 43k...

What DR. O said! While I would expect there to be a lot of oil in the coolant if it were the case, one of the ways oil can get in there is through a cracked "heat exchanger". It is a piece that is used to transfer heat out of the oil into the coolant and as a result has the two fluids in very close proximity. Search for a thread titled "milkshake" or something like that. It definitely doesnt sound like your problem but makes for a good read.
