Drivers window will not open in cold weather
Drivers window will not open in cold weather
A couple of times recently when I have come out to the Mini (R56) first thing in the morning (when it has been a couple of degrees below freezing) and tried to get in I have found that the drivers window seems to be frozen closed. After a couple of goes the window finally drops enough so I can get the door open. If I then try to get the window to go down further, with the door open, It still sticks but after a couple of more goes it starts to work normaly. Has anyone else had this happen as the Mini dealer says there is nothing they can do and that it is a common problem. It does not seen right to me and sounds as though the mechanism is freezing up inside the door.
I had something like this happen just other day. The culprit was some moisture on the front corner of the window that froze to the rubber. I just let the car warm up for a while and it was fine. But I intend to grab some of that rubber seal stuff at some point.
