Clicking while trying to start

My 2004 mini won't start. The lights and radio work but all I get is clicking when I turn on the ignition. Also tried charging the battery. Got nothing. Its the weekend and I'm stuck. Any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like a bad battery, if it has a bad cell it won't take a full charge. You will get enough voltage for lights & accessories, but without a full 12 volts in the system the starter will not spin. The clicking noise is the solenoid engaging the drive assembly. Change the battery & you should be good to go.

It's the battery. Get a new one installed and you will be on your way in no time.
