Auto A/C always hot??

On my way home from work today, temp about 50F outside, sprinkling rain, I had the climate control set for my usual 72. Usually, it takes a few minutes for me to feel the heat coming out the vents as the car warms up, and then once the car is warm, it cools off or does whatever it needs to do to maintain that 72F.

Today, instead of settling down, the heat continued to pour out to the point where I was getting quite warm. I turned the control down to 70 first, then 66, then all the way to Lo, and at that point, the fan kicked in big time and was really blowing the hot air at me!

I think my MINI is mad at me! This morning it also threw me a TPMS warning and when I checked my tires, three were @30psi, one was at 28psi. I reset the TPMS.

Poor Reg was rear-ended last week. Could he be fussing that he's not fixed yet? Should I call my dealer about the A/C?

check that the snowflake button is illuminated on the a/c if you want the compressor to run/cool.

It's definitely a climate control malfunction. Try resetting it by turning it completely off, then hit the "auto" button again. If it acts up again, it's time for a trip to the dealer.

Mine did some thing similar once. Not matter what the setting auto or manual, LO or any temp, it blew hot air. Not warm, but hot. It only did it once and hasn't malfunctioned since.

I think all four tires (cold) are supposed to be 33 p.s.i., not three at 30 and one at 28.

I'll check the tires again this morning (when they're cold) and top them off to 33 psi. FWIW, my husband took Reg out after I reset the TPMS, and it didn't come back on and he didn't report any heater problems either.

The snowflake button needs to be illuminated.
