clutch replaced under extended SERVICE contract

I purchased the Mini Extended Service Contract after reading on NAM that it covered the clutch. Took the car to Long Beach Mini where I purchased the car and Extended Service. My MCS has 73k on it. The service advisor told me the Extended Service contract does NOT cover the clutch! :(

Can you provide me any supporting info, or tips on getting the clutch replaced under ESC? THANKS!

I am ready for clutch set #3 and only 51K miles.

First @ 25K miles defective under warranty. Second clutch doing the same @51K miles. Booked at dealer's early next week to have Clutch #3 and Flywheel #2 fitted and 100% covered under MINi Extended service contract.

These clutches can not stand stop and go city driving. Been driving stick for 23 years. Never had a car requiring 3 clutches with less than 100K miles.

Next MINI will be auto!

Clutch Problem

I just bought a 2009 Mini Cooper S from CarMax last week with 21k miles on it. I drove it less than 400 miles before the clutch become an issue. I took the car to CarMax for warranty work and was told that the dealer would have to do the service. Sure enough, the dealer stated it was not covered under warranty due to normal “wear & tear”. Based on all the comments I’ve read on this forum, I am returning the car to CarMax for a full refund since I am not the only one with this same issue. I understand that buying a used car is a “buyer beware” situation but Mini Cooper should be more responsive to a problem that exists for many owners. Mini Cooper is not building a quality product & I will NEVER buy another Mini Cooper.
