I'm trying to remove the front wiper arms on the '02. I took off the covers and removed the nuts/washers, but the arms are stuck on the splined shafts. Looking at the Bentley manual, apparently there's a special puller to remove them. Is there any easy way to take them off that doesn't require this special tool?

 

I had to remove mine and they were stuck also. A freind that works on cars helped by placing a rag to protect the arm and lightly tapped on the end near were the nut was with a combination wrench. Pulled lightly straight up and another light tap and it came off. I placed a little wd 40 on a rag and wipe the the splines before replacing so that this might not happen again in case need to remove them again. Hope this works for you.

great advice on how to remove the wiper arm. Instead of a combo wrench I used a soft faced hammer, the hard nylon side. About two good raps did the trick. I had to replace the plastic trim piece that goes around the wiper shaft.

Thanks for the advice! A couple taps on the end of the threaded shaft while gently pulling on the wiper arm got them to come right off!
