Need help for my 2006 base Cooper!!!

AFTER I had my car serviced for oil change.. i think the car technician forgot to replace/reattach a cover... for the one on red arrow. what is that part? there are like white splatters around it too. it is obvious the cover is missing (NOT the white part it is there, im talking about the gray part) because the carpet is exposing parts around it.. obviously something (a cover) was taken off and was not reattached. :

could some one upload that part of their car here(the gas pedal area)? coz im really really tempted to go to a mini dealer just to see what it is supposed to look like.

could someone kindly also post a picture of bolster under the steering wheel so i can compare what parts are there?!! what exactly are the parts to be found when you open bolster under the steering wheel? i have a base cooper. does all MINI models(s,base, etc) have the same parts under the steering wheel?

UPDATE: i just noticed as i was driving home that my steering wheel vibrates when the car sits is on a stoplight. it is nothing major vibration but i dont feel it vibraTe like that before. just wanna know if it is natural for car to vibrate like that while it sits is on a stoplight. maybe i just have overdrive imagination since i am worried that the steering wheel was "messed up" when i had it serviced. all i need is first hand experience.

Is the white part the bushing for the steering column? I have *no idea* why a tech would be anywhere near that part while performing an oil change.

The white splatters are probably lithium grease from the bushing.
