I purchased a 2005 MCS with 34k miles on it recently. The dealer I bought it from (local Honda dealer) gave me a 1 month warranty but mentioned it had some factory warranty left which I assume is true since it came with 50k mile warranty. My airbag light is on and I would like to get that fixed, also either my power steering pump or fan is making tons of noise. I am pretty sure it is the fan, just started yesterday. (I have replaced a pump on my 02 MC so I am aware of the pump problems that exist).

SO, my question is, any problems being the 2nd owner of the car using the factory warranty? Can I bring it in and get those things covered under warranty or do you suspect they will give me a hard time?

No problems at all. The MINI warranty goes with the car, not the owner, so as long as it's been less than 48 months and 50k miles since the car was delivered to the first owner, the dealer will honor the warranty without blinking.

You can ask your dealer to check your car's warranty status, because there's a chance that the original owner sprung for an extended warranty as well.
