Driver's seat reposition problem

Hello everyone,

My Mini is 2003 Cooper. When I fold forward my driver's seat to get into the rear seat, and then push the front seat back to put it its original position, the seat goes all the way back to its maximum sliding position. I have found some other threads about reclining problem, but my driver's seat back's reclining position is OK. But the whole seat slides all the way back.
However, after that, when I adjust.slide the seat forward to my driving position, it stays there. It only happens when I pull forward to access the rear seat and then put it back.

Is this also related to sync problem? or is anything broken?

Thanks in advance.

My seat does this but I never thought it was a problem... thought it was supposed to be like that.

My passenger seat does that on my '03 S. Does yours click when you adjust it back and forth? I asked the dealership to check it out but they fixed it without my go ahead. I made them take it back out. In the process I found out it was the track seat adjuster that had to be replaced. The part is about $170. Hope that might help.

Thanks for the info.

I'll just keep it as it is for now since the passenger side works OK.
Also if I hold in the middle of sliding, and push the seat back in right position, it stays there.

Really curious what it is.. Maybe I should pull the seat out and take a look when I have some spare time.
