Power Steering

i know its another PS issue but this is a more focused question....my ps is starting to act up...i know the fan has gone south since i dont hear it run...dont worry im not driving it....its on the roll up ramps at my parents house.....my question is about fluid.....is it absolutely necessary that i run pentosin in the system or can i run it with a additive or use something like Royal Purple's Max-EZ....we are planning on doing a full fluid swap and wondering if we can put an additive that inproves the fluid strength
