Ok, so my new mini sidewalk has been at the dealer since tuesday. Today they gave me a loaner as I really use the car on weekends ( i live in manhattan ) I have an automatic and the issue seems to be that when the car is put into reverse, the number 13 fuse blows. They have repeatedly tried to figure out why this is happening, but to no avail. They are working with something called "puma" to help diagnose the problem. They said it could be anything from the gear box being defective to two wires that are touching eachother causing it to short. Either way, my new car is still in the dang shop

PUMA is what they used when Scrappy went in to determine the shifter mechanism had to be replaced.I found out here on NAM that P.U.M.A is an acronym for Parallel Universal Message passing Architecture.Basically they hook your Mini to the computer and the information goes to the MINI engineers who can help diagnose the cause.

Best of luck to you Banjo and keep us posted when you can.

Update 8-28-08

Hopefully this is the last update in regards to my 07 MCS.

The new engine did not cure the overheating problem

Mini is replacing my 07 MCS with a 2009 MCS that is scheduled for production Sept 15th. It will be the same color and have the exact same options as my 07 MCS.

Next update should be when the '09 is delivered.

Great news for you. Here's hoping that your new MINI will be trouble free. You deserve it.
