I have an ELM 327 device that can plug into the OBO II port to the USB in my laptop. After running through multiple programs, they are all having problems finding the protocol to connect. Does the 07 mini have a completely different protocol? I thought I read that the R56 was ISO 9141

 

I have the same device with the program SCAN TOOL XL and Ihave no problems to connect. I see and record all data live, it's a real good thing
to have. I think it depend of the program you are utilizing to read the car data.

 

Yeah I was using PCMScan...same company so I may have had a defective product? Idk but I was able to get a refund and just decided I will get a Scangauge II at some point
