AC Recharge

My air conditioning just died (on a day with a heat index of 115 ). Is it ok to take my Mini to a regular garage to have it recharged or do I need to take it to the dealership?

any garage should be able to charge the a/c system. it's pretty much the same deal for any and all cars newer than 94 ish. fittings and type of freon anyway. the amount needed is different but they'd be able to figure out how much to put in (there should be a label in the engine compartment with that info).

but that might not fix your problem.
