How to Fix intermedate Rear wiper operation....

I just wanted to pass a little quick fix I discovered on my 05 cooperS. Basically the rear wiper stopped functioning, but the squirter would still operate normaly. After disassembling the rear tailgate cover, and unplugging the wiper motor, I got a 12v battery and jumped power to two of the three terminals on the motor to see if it worked. I put power to the terminals where the two larger diameter wires were plugged to. If it doesnt move when you jump the wires, then disassemble the motor. By simply taking the screws off to remove the cover of the motor, mine showed major crud build up which seized the shaft and all the moving parts/gears. After cleaning with varsol, and freeing everything up, I just applied grease to all moving parts. Reassembled, and IT WORKS PERFECT. Really easy and quick fix, about an hour for the complete job. Im sorry I didnt take any pictures of the job. Wanted to pass this along. Fern
