Good Morning Motorheads! It's 3:18 am in California and I've finally finished my troubleshooting/repairs to my RH Xenon. After swapping the bulb and balast, I tried to remove the RH igniter form the headlamp housing. I'v enclosed a pic of what I presume is the igniter, but for the life of me, I couldn't remove it!! I turned and pushed but it got stuck both ways!! (Hmm, that sounded a bit risqué) Well, as luck may have it, whatever I did fiddle with fixed my problem. I did some manual adjustments and Emma is back in business. So, my query is this: is it possible to remove the igniter in the event of a failure?

 

From what I understand, MINI does not sell the ignitor separately... so if you find you have a defective one, the only option you have is to purchase a new headlight assembly.

Igniters are sold separately on ebay and some forums like hidplanet (see their forums)

 

*Runs to Ebay motors.* Anyone who's seen my posts in the past knows what I'm going through.

 

Sorry about changing subject a little but will the ballast and/or ignitor from the newer style (read: 05+) fit into the earlier non-projector style headlights or did the controls change?
