Passenger Restraint System Malfunction?

I had a malfunction come up on the Nav today - it said there was a problem with the passenger restraint system. The warning was also accompanied by the fasten seatbelt and airbag light. It turned itself out, but came back later in that day (and again turned itself off). Needless to say I plan to take it in and have it checked out, but has anyone had this problem before?

Just started noticing this myself. I'm driving alone with myseat belt on and it keeps giving me the error message that someone doesn't have their belt on. Is that what's happening to you? I have a 07MC.

That would happen to me if I had a heavy object on the passenger seat and the weight sensor was mistaking it for a (really light?) person.

This warning is different. The text on the nav screen says that there's a malfunction in the passenger airbag, belt force limiter, or belt tensioner. I have a Monday appointment to take it in so I'll post what the diag is as soon as I know (for anyone else that may have this problem crop up)

Josh, did you ever find out what was causing this or what the dealer said? I sent you a PM as well.

You need to expand your reading to this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=129844 where you will see that you are not alone.

I have the same problem. This is a seat belt light, not and airbag light like the link above. It only seems to happen at night when the car is cold inside and out. I'm going to hook up the factory scan-tool and see what it has to say next time it happens.

I'll let you all know.

Thanks,
Rob
