TPS warning / Seat belt chime problem
TPS warning / Seat belt chime problem
Picked up my MINI last Thursday in Cincy. 15 miles in to my drive home had my
TPS sensor go off. Checked air pressure on all 4 tires , not a problem. Called the
dealer and was told how to reset it. Did so, but now most times I drive anywhere
for more than 5 minutes or so, I get a false warning.
Resetting works... but it comes back later.
Possibly related, when I have a passenger in the car, the seat belt warning stays on
for about 5 minutes... even after the seatbelt is fastened. This occurs anytime the
car is started, and I have a passenger in the seat. (Even if I stop the car, passenger
remains buckled in... and I restart the car. New warning each time...)
Oh... one last possible glitch. Opened the hatch, shut it... got a hatch open warning.
Stopped to check it, and hatch seemed shut. Opened and shut again... warning went
away. This happened twice so far.
Service department is supposed to call me this afternoon. Do these seem like enough of
a problem to warrant the dealer picking up the car and giving me a loaner while it's looked at?
They've said that's a possible option. Or does this seem like something that could wait a month
until I get to the dealer myself, 3 hours away?
I'm just a bit concerned it could just need reprogrammed which is no big deal,. or have a more
severe electrical problem lurking in the background.
Any thoughts?
