My SA told me that around january, mini would be offering an extended warranty (not 3rd party).
Anyone know if this is true, and if so, what the costs are, what it covers and if it is worthwhile?

MINI came out with the extended maintenance a few months ago... They've had it for BMW for years, but they only just started offering it for MINI a few months ago. It allows you to extend your 3yr/36k full free maintenance out to 6yr/100k.

As far as warranties, though, MINI does not have any extensions available.

 

This could be the BMW-sponsored extended WARRANTY (NOT Maintenance) extension that it has been rumored might come out for some time. If so, it will be a new program, and probably no information on specifics is available yet. It will be interesting to see if different dealerships charge different prices in order to increase their profit margin.

 

yes, i definetly meant Warranty, and not maintenance (which i already have, for better or worse).
So nobody has any insight into the warranty timeframe? My warranty is up in sept, i'd like to catch this before then, what with the problems my car has been having...
