This has been an expensive winter for me and my Mini. I have an 03 BRG MCS and had troubles earlier this winter with the supercharger gearing disintegrating, causing the head to crack. Also had to replace the intercooler cause it had a leak, and the battery cause it died while it sat waiting on the cylinder head.

Ah, well, on to my current problem. When I start the car, the windshield wipers come on. Usually in the intermittent setting. This just began recently, and I cannot figure it out. I am thinking it is a relay, or a grounding issue, but I have been unable to locate a problem. I have added (2 years ago) boost and AFR gauges, which seem to be okay, though the AFR is not working correctly, I believe that is a different difficulty. I also added a subwoofer bass tube ( six months ago), hard wired to the battery in the boot, with a fuse in between, and well grounded to the sheet metal. This may be part of the problem, but I am looking for input. When I disconnect the sub, the A/C works, but the wipers still come on upon startup. the washer motor goes nuts, and when I shut down and restart, the wipers come on in the intermittent setting.
With the sub, i can hear every electrical action. I.E. windows up or down, turn signals, through the sub. This is why I think it is a grounding issue. Also, the A/C loses power and flickers on and off, then goes away completely, including the illumination. But when the sub is disconnected, the wiper problem still exists. Are these two separate issues? Am I on the right track? Any help/pointers are greatly appreciated. thank you very much!
