Paint shops today use a spray mask to cut down on overspray when repainting small damaged areas. I just had my 03 repainted front and rear with new painted stripes. the paint shop used spray mask for the roof and doors. Monday it will be color sanded and two more coats of clear sprayed on then sanded with 600 grit then 1000 grit then 1500 grit then buffed out. with two coats of glaze hand rubbed on.

When I picked up my car my MA was nervous, he knows i'm an autobody guy and I looked it over with a fine tooth comb looking for paint problems before even getting in it. I'm happy to hear they treated you so well for your paint and rattles problems! I also want to state that in general the 07 and 08 Mini's i've seen all seem to have excellent quality paint. My dad gets mad when I park my mini next to his Cadillac CTS Type V because his Caddy's paint looks like crap compared to my Mini lol.

the work was done at a privite body shop that speciallizes in resotrations and hot rods. they do every day repairs also. the owner was a customer of mine when i worked in auto parts house. The car was wrecked on the 19 nov and still has to go to the dealer for electrical and motor repairs. 13k so far. The ins co messed up and had them start on the repairs before they knew the full extent of the damages. should of been totaled. they have to fix it now. Made some changes to it while it was being repaired. (aero front bumper, 06 headlites, painted viper stripes front to rear, new two-tone leather interior, all the rock chips repaired plus lsd installed with only a little coinage from me. Ive spent a lot of time at the body shop helping out to cut my cost. Hoping to have it all back maye in time for the Dragon.

It looked much worse in person. The pictures didn't come across with the full effect.

See my gallery for 2 pictures of the outcome. I think it was worth the worry and effort.

I'm glad to hear that they took care of you, and you're satisfied with the outcome. It's good to see some positive resolution in the prolems/issues section.

With that paint fix and the last of the rattles fixed, every issue I've had has been resolved. Really happy with the car! The time it took with everything I've had done/fixed was mainly just my own fault due to not wanting to get back to my dealer sooner (about 90 miles away).
