I've had my MC for just one year and never had any problems with the seat lever (although that was changed under the Service Bulletin recommendation) or seat sliding mechanism until Saturday, when my wife slid the seat as far forward as possible to accommodate a tall rear seat passenger.

After the rear seat passenger got off, i could not slide back the front seat, which I've done successfully many, many times. Finally took it to the dealer and lo and behold, he pushed it back into position and flipped the seatback into locking position. I was stupefied!

Anyone experience the same thing? How much force do you use when pushing the sliding seat back?

i had same problem since pickup (June 2002). two weeks ago, seat got stuck and could not put the seat back into position. Luckily, I was close to my dealer, who also has service dept opened on saturdays, and they fixed it on the spot.
Seems to have a campaign on the seat latch mechanism. They use that word instead of "recall".

I had to do something Minihune called, "Greco Roman Seat Wrestling" at the dealership when this happened to me on both front seats.

The guy who was tinting my front windows didn't bother to ask me how to recline the seats and cranked it out of alignment. Make sure if you have new people messing with your seats that you tell them how before they screw it up too.

Here's a website that should help...make sure to put your whole body weight on the upper portion of the seat for the adjustment to work. Good luck.
