Plastic cover in rear wheel wells
Plastic cover in rear wheel wells
This past weekend, was driving home and hit an unmarked pot hole (no cones or any warning). The car seemed to hit it pretty hard. When we got the car (06 Cooper S) home, I noticed that the plastic wheel well covers on both rear tires appeared loose. The plastic coated screws that you can notice if you run your fingers along the outer, back-half of the wheel well had popped out and the wheel-well covers were hanging into the wheel well. One side (drivers) seemed to easily pop back in, although the passenger side appears cracked and doesn't stay in place. Have placed a call for service and awaiting a return call. Has anyone else had something like this happen? I'm wondering what sort of time/cost may be involved assuming that one (2?) wheel well plastic cover(s) may have to be replaced. Thanks.
Update: Mini service was able to get to the car today (rather than the scheduled Monday)! Woo Hoo! Haven't seen it yet, but it sounds like they were able to screw the piece(s)? back in.
Edit: Charged $50 and they screwed the wheel cover-flaps into the bumper. Hope it holds together....?
