Hoping this is a fluke and not CVT issues

Hoping this is a fluke and not CVT issues

Normally under heavy acceleration my car hits 6k RPM then goes back to 5500 and so on the other day it hit 6700 when I was trying to merge on an interstate between 2 semis. Did my Rev limiter fail or CVT or what

I cannot get this to repeat itself at all. Car seems to be running fine at this point in time

2003 CVT
6-06-2003 build date

anyone with any ideas?

Did you have it in Sports mode? Mine routinely will go past 6K in sports mode and when in manual mode it will auto shift at just above 6.5K if I don't shift it.
