Cruise Control Issue

I'm not sure where to begin with this one. I had my MCS recently serviced to have the clutch/flywheel changed and now my cruise control is no longer working. I know I can enable it since the light turns green on the tachometer, but it doesn't appear to want to set the speed when I press the + symbol... the speed just keeps dropping until I press the gas, no matter how long I hold the button down. Has anyone experienced anything like this before and what did you do to resolve it? Thanks!

sounds like to me they didnt hook something up, I would take it back to them and let them know whats up. In the mean time you could just take a gander under the hood to see if you notice any loose connections, also might want to check fues though I dought that is the issue.

Check vac lines

In my experience .... this type of problem has always come down to a bad vacuum line....check for a disconnected or loose or cracked hose....

or if under warranty try the dealer

Global Imports figured out the problem. It turned out to be a faulty brake light sensor behind the brake pedal. Thus the cruise control could not figure out if the brakes were being applied or not and so would not engage.

The Mini cruise control is electronic and does not deal with vacuum lines at all, according to Global Imports.

Oh well, should have the part in tomorrow and my long drives will be more comfortable

My dealer changed the same part on my '03 when the cruise quit working, a month later they had to change the steering angle sensor when it quit again, just FYI......

I'm having the same issue - cruise won't engage, but the light comes on/off as it should with the "power" button. Should I throw a brake switch in there? My brake lights come on - wouldn't the bad switch avoid that?
