Windshield rubber gasket coming out

Has anyone had issues with the rubber insulation coming off. On the freeway today i heard a loud humming wind noise. I stopped and saw the the rubber around the winshield just above the rear view mirror was completley out of the groove. Went by one of our wonderful local dealers (car has 50,300 miles on it) and they quoted my 7 hours of labor plus parts. they want to completely remove the winshield and re-install the rubber. Sorry for the typos I'm on my treo. Anyone just glue that sucker back in?

I would check with a good auto glass shop and see what they say. It would be much cheaper than the dealer. Good luck with it.

7 hours? I just had a windshield replaced here in Vegas, and the guy was done in about 40 minutes.
If it's just out of the groove, have you tried pushing it back in? A lot of rubber seals stay in purely by pressure.
