SES light and performance problems.

I had a wierd one happen on my 06 S this morning... I started the car and it started fine... I pulled up to the end of my level driveway and out on to the main road. As soon as I hit the gas the car bogged down and wouldn't go faster than 2 or 3 MPH. (I don't remember if the SES light was flashing or not, I was too busy tyring to get the emergency flashers on and get out of the road before someone came along at 60 and creamed me.) I managed to get past the end of my wall where I could pull off the road. I shut the engine off and turned it back on and it ran fine with full power, but the SES light is on steady now. I am taking it to Advance to see what the code is, so I can decide if it is safe to drive or not, I am stuck driving a 96 Lumina with no A/C, and Flow can't work me in until a week from today.

Any ideas what might be going on?

Thanks!

How many miles on the car? My '06 did something similar. Code was P0130, pre-cat O2 sensor. At 33K miles seemed a little early for the sensor to go bad.....

Mileage = 15037

I'm a little concerned about it as well. I took it to Advance Auto and their computer output was "manufacturer auxilary input/output' they said that it was a proprietary code and I needed to take it to the dealer for diagnostics.

I'm hoping that they can actually find something wrong with the car and that it's just the O2 sensor rather then telling me that they can't duplicate it and then worrying every time I pull into traffic that it is going to leave me stuck in the middle of the road.

you probably have a bad bypass valve causing the engine to lose power. do a search it'll probably give you an idea of the issue. kinda sucks that advance was not able to give you a readout for the ses.
good luck!
