If you are broke, you can usually pick up a tires at a salvage yard. There are even people that sell nearly new tires off of high end salvage cars on eBay. I would just key in the type of tire you need. Might be worth a shot? You'll still have to pay to have them/it mounted, but it would be cheaper. Sorry about your luck, but at least you have a MINI right?
Yeah I did some ebay searching over the weekend, at the moment I am better off with just going to MINI since Discount Tire doesn't carry the 07 tire in Cali.
