the leak is probably the crappy clips they use to hold the hoses on... change them out. Mine leaked, the dealer tightened the clips and it restarted leaking a few weeks later... i picked up a can from NAPA.

ditto on the clamps. Mine leaks from just under the reservoir. I plan to replace with the standard screw type clamp.

The leak seemed to stop during the summer months when the temps were warmer, seemed to have resumed when the temps got colder.

Has anyone installed, considered or know of a PS fluid filter that could be installed in the fluid return line, just to strain out any grit/debris? Maybe something is already there for this purpose?

screw clamps work

I replaced the OEM compression clamps with screw clamps. The lower one was a bit of a test....I got the threads started up top, and allowed it to slide down the hose and met up with it beneath. I reefed them up fairly tight ...the ends of the hoses almost immediately went from that wet-look to solid and dry. I wiped down the residue on the frame a bit...after about a day, all of the residual dripping had stopped. I may use some detergent spray beneath just to remove any remaining oils that had accumulated.

The Pentosin fluid level in the reservoir has stayed miraculously stable/full.

THANKS to all who suggested this simple (and cheap) solution.

Wonder if an in-line fluid filter would work? Or maybe something like that?

Oh those Europeans and their "fancy" clamps just couldn't have "regular" clamps on their hoses and had to design new and improved ones for their special cars......

I would just change the fluid if you are concerned with debris...to many chances of blockage unless you created some type of bypass system....I think a oil cooler on the return line would be a bigger help in extending pump life....the cooler fluid would help "pull" heat from the motor, helping run cooler!! Maybe an appropriately sized transmission cooler?
