Regular Scheduled Maintenance

According to the computer when I start the MINI, my maintinance isn't until 13,000. Do I have to wait until then, or can I take it in at 10,000? Just curious. Thank you.

Hi, Seth. You are entitled to an oil service at least once a year, whether your prompter is at 10K or not.

When my MINI was new, I went on a cross-country road trip and because the majority of miles were highway, my prompter showed first inspection at 13,800 miles. I chose to do interim oil changes every 5,000 miles, though...then took her in at 13,800 for the official maintenance.

Call your dealership's service department and ask them about it to clarify their policy, and be sure to read your owner's manual regarding servicing intervals.
