What the %#@$ is wrong with Universal MINI

Universal MINI in Southern California charges $275 for their oil change service when you car is out of warranty. I repeat $275 to change the oil and filter, rotate tires, check fluids & hoses and reset the MINI counter. I'm shocked. I'm taking mine to Steve's Auto Clinic in the valley, who charges about $75 for the same service. Can anyone tell me how and why this is??? I realize that dealerships are a bit more expensive, but $275 for an oil change???? It's a MINI Cooper S not a Ferrari stradali….

same in boston . obviously i don't do it . it's beemer frosting on a mini . beemer bought mini ; so we get stuck paying as if we got a 7 series .

more of a reason to start doing it yourself. I've started changing the oil on our Jeep and its so much easier. There are tons of threads about changing your oil. Sorry to hear about the unbelievable costs.
