My warranty is about to expire, I have about 800 miles or so before it does. Means about two weeks. I want to get the car checked-out before the car loses the warranty to make sure there's nothing about to wrong. I also know my brake pads will probably need to be changed soon. All of this requires a good mechanic. While I know Steve's place up in the SF Valley I'd prefer not to make that drive. I live in Huntington Beach and work in Irvine, a mechanic in those areas would be preferred but its not required.

I had one other related question. Are brakes even covered in the normal 3 year/36K warranty for the 2005 MINI?

The warranty is 4 years/50,000 miles

You also get 3 years/36,000 miles of "free maintenance" of which brakes are covered (if they meet MINI's definition of needing to be replaced).

 

Meaning, I would assume, the little brake pad light would have to be lit?
