I agree... Chris Yuseco at South Bay is great. Picked up my MCS from him 2 weeks ago. He picked me up from LAX and the car was ready to go... complete with floor mats installed and a full tank of gas.

south bay mini

So I went to south bay mini on saturday. It was like seeing a celebrity when I saw amanda.

It was so busy they gave me some bmw guy to help me but I knew more about the car than him so I just looked around and emailed them when i got home. Today I spoke with Chris and so far so good. He is putting up with my many questions nicely. (this is my first new car and i have been reading these boards for a year now).

I am already freaking out over color choice. I see all the threads in mini talk and none for the color I want (silver, not the dark).

IM SO EXCITED im going this weekend to test drive, put deposit and order and make the last 2006 order from what I am told.

Already I want to get after market stripes, window tint and driving lights. Anyone who knows a good place to get lights installed let me know.

thanks!

Just for future reference if you're on the fence about buying between these two MSRP dealers: I just called So. Bay MINI and tried to schedule my first service. Being that I bought my car from them, I would get a loaner car. Well, I could if I waited a month! The soonest they could give me a car was June 28th! They said they *only* have 150 loaner cars and that they were all committed until then. WTH? They said they could shuttle me tomorrow though. What's the point of loaner cars if you can't schedule a service within a reasonable amount of time? I scheduled the service with Long Beach instead and getting the shuttle to my workplace. Granted LB won't give me a loaner since I didn't buy from them but their shuttle is more convenient.
I will be giving Long Beach my future business.

I ran into that issue too, and wound up going to long beach as a result. It wasn't a flawless experience, but it was better than waiting an extra two weeks for south bay given that I would have been well over the intended mileage by that point.

I'm just going to call South Bay earlier in the future. SB is closer to me an a little more planning ahead next time is all it takes.

Andrea took my order. She was really nice. She knew her stuff, told me what to expect, and answered every question I had. Later on in the process, I talked to Tony a couple times on the phone, and again, I was really impressed. He was very thorough. The paperwork and financing were handled by Matt and Mark, and they were quick and very friendly. The sales manager called me a few days after I picked up the car, and he also left a good impression.

But anyway, if you can talk with Tony or Andrea, or the sales manager (Bobby, I think) at Long Beach, I'm sure they'll take really good care of you.
The two MAs at LB MINI, since the dealership opened in March 2002, are Tony Lage and Matt Limburg, along with their support staff.

I have purchased 2 MINIs from them and just arranged for my dear friend, Maximusmini, visiting from Michigan, to buy his third new MINI from them yesterday.

All my dealings with the sales department have been top-notch. I recommend LB MINI very enthusiastically!

Funny, I have always had to wait/book in advance to get a loaner with BMW dealers that offer them, there is always a backlog of people booking appointments and requesting them so it sets the appt times back - it is just part of the deal if you want a loaner I guess and, to me is not a mark against South Bay at all. It is nice that they even have them IMHO, since many do not, esp for MINI.

I do expect to wait a week or two to be able to get a loaner car, but almost a month? My mileage would have been way over by that point. Also vacation plans interfere. Who's Steve Marx? Is he a SA? I'm not dissing SO. Bay totally here though. Two weeks after I recieved my MINI the air bag light kept going on and I ended up not having my car for a total of 2 1.2 weeks. At that time they did give me a loaner as it was a air bag issue and needed to be rectified immediately. It turned out to be wiring in the pass. seat. It took four repeat visits to fix but they did fix it. I live by So. Bay and work near Long Beach so it's a toss up which one I can use. I'm lucky too that way to have two dealers so close. thanks for all the replies.

Before SouthBay MINI came into the market, the only few good dealers were Nick Alexander and Long Beach. Back then the wait for getting an appointment with NA was 2 to 3 months. When SouthBay was still new, getting an appointment the same week or within 2 weeks was awesome, but sad to say, since they've become one of the highest volume of MINI dealers in LA, that also means the service is much like other MINI dealers.
