I'm in Santa Monica--my metal garage door closed on top of my beautiful black lid and I'm pretty sure I need a paint and body shop....

hi. i would call steve at steve @ steve's auto clinic for a recommendation. he is not in santa monica but has a really good support system for everything that is good for minis. plus he is an excellant mini mechanic, very knowledgeable and great to work with.

Truthfully, I'd go to a Lowrider hangout and ask.
You want attention to detail, that'd be my ticket. (Don't let presumptions cloud your opinions.)

There's a mean body shop in El Monte that can take care of you. (Can't remember the name but they're always at the LA Auto Show, SEMA, Auto Salon, HIN, etc.)

 

After rear-ending a van I promptly called Steve at Steve's Auto Clinic for a body shop recommendation. Without hesitation he told me to call Roger Desesa at Desesa Auto Craft in Van Nuys. I can't yet comment on Roger's work b/c he still has my car (waiting on parts), but I can say he is a very nice, professional guy, appears to be completely on the level, and returns my calls promptly.

So between Steve's recommendation and my gut reaction, I'm confident my car will be tip-top when it's done.

 

Marco's Auto Body is one of the best in the biz. I've referred clients there for years...they kick ***.
